Last updated: April 22, 2026 (v1.1 — added Firebase Analytics section)
Tl;dr — No personal data is collected. The app runs on your device. No account, no server for your data. Only anonymous, aggregated usage stats can be shared with Firebase Analytics (Google), and only if you opt in from Settings (off by default).
Piano Pulse is developed by kovaserv. For any question about this policy, contact us at: info@kovaserv.fr.
Piano Pulse does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to a remote server. We don't know who you are. We have no user database.
For the app to work, some data is saved in the app's private sandbox (iOS SharedPreferences, isolated from other apps):
All of this data is wiped automatically when you uninstall the app.
The app does not request access to the microphone, camera, contacts, location, or photos.
Piano Pulse uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand how the app is used, only if you explicitly enable it. Opt-in is off by default — you can enable or disable it any time in Settings → Privacy → Help improve Piano Pulse.
When enabled, Firebase collects aggregated usage events (e.g. song started, MIDI import succeeded or failed, paywall shown, in-app purchase succeeded, achievement unlocked). Collected data is always aggregated and anonymized via buckets — never the MIDI filenames you import, your display name, the musical content, or precise durations.
Anonymous user properties collected: tier (free or premium), app language, MIDI keyboard connected (yes/no), imports count bucket (e.g. "4-10"), best streak bucket (e.g. "7-13 days"), preferred notation (letters or solfège).
Firebase uses an anonymous install identifier — not tied to your Apple ID or email. IP addresses are truncated by Firebase by default. Data is retained according to Firebase's policy (default 14 months, possibly reduced in Firebase settings). Google's policy applies: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
For in-app purchases (Premium subscription), transactions go through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's privacy policy. Piano Pulse receives only an anonymous identifier from Apple confirming your purchase — never your name, email, or payment details.
Since we collect no personal data, GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection) are automatically respected: there is nothing on our side to access or delete. To erase your local data, simply uninstall the app, or use the "Reset progress" button in Settings.
Piano Pulse is rated "Everyone" (PEGI 3, iOS 4+) and contains no inappropriate content. The app is designed to be usable by children with no privacy risk, since no data is collected.
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app (e.g. new features or a third-party service). On significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we ever introduce telemetry or analytics, this will be clearly announced in the app before activation and will require your explicit consent.
